Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Norman Bates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacoby Wilcox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bates comes to the cage accompanied by Hmmm... Interesting.... Wilcox comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Danger: Wildman kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Norman Bates! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 8 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Jacoby Wilcox! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilcox misses with an uppercut. Jacoby Wilcox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed right hand from Bates misses the target. Wilcox tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bates manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Wilcox bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Bates blocks a jab. Wilcox fails with a takedown attempt. Bates throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Wilcox on the side of the head. Wilcox changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bates looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Bates can't do much from the bottom here. Wilcox wants to control but Bates is keeping him busy. Wilcox landing a few strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wilcox is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bates knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Bates manages to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bates tries to roll over but Wilcox keeps him under control. Bates has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wilcox is working away from the top position though. Wilcox tries to pass to full mount but Bates defends it. Bates keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Wilcox is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bates sees it coming and defends easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilcox wants to pass to mount but Bates is defending the position. Wilcox thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Bates is looking for a sweep. Wilcox is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bates has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wilcox is working away from the top position though. Wilcox prevents Bates from improving his position. Wilcox thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bates's head. Wilcox throws a strike but Bates avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Bates wants to stand but Wilcox is controlling the position. Wilcox throws a big elbow that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilcox pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bates is keeping the position for now. Wilcox looking to sit in guard and control but Bates gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Wilcox keeping moving, preventing Bates from controlling successfully. Wilcox looking for a guillotine here but Bates defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Wilcox working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bates doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bates manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Wilcox tries to land a sweep but no joy. Bates working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Wilcox not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Bates postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Bates lands a couple of digs. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bates chips away with some ground and pound. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wilcox controls Bates momentarily but Bates frees himself. Bates engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Bates got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wilcox has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bates has managed to get both his arms back between Wilcox's legs - danger averted. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jacoby Wilcox will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
The fighters circling - Bates throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Wilcox misses with a takedown attempt - Bates sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Bates circles away from the clinch attempt letting Bates counter with a right hand.
It looks like Jacoby Wilcox has been cut. Wilcox tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Bates leaves Wilcox with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Wilcox tries to clinch but Bates is having none of it. Bates takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jacoby Wilcox is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wilcox dives in and grabs Bates's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bates pushes down on Wilcox's head and hops out. Norman Bates has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacoby Wilcox. Bates misses with a looping right. Bates lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wilcox circles away quickly and effectively. Wilcox throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bates scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Wilcox lands a jab to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wilcox tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bates paws at him with a jab and circles away. Norman Bates is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bates fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Wilcox is breathing heavily. An inside leg kick from Wilcox misses. A looping hook to the body misses from Wilcox. Bates does a little dance to reset his feet. Bates throws a series of punches but Wilcox moves out of range. Wilcox rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bates counters with a left and a right that stings Wilcox. Norman Bates is winning the standup battle so far. Bates bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Wilcox's head. Wilcox tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bates sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wilcox somewhat. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bates uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wilcox. Bates swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bates throws a series of punches but Wilcox moves out of range. Wilcox is looking to clinch. Bates moves out of range as Wilcox strikes. A big right from Wilcox misses. Wilcox throws a shot from downtown. Bates moves away and avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wilcox slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Bates throws a jab but it's blocked by Wilcox. Bates cracks Wilcox with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Wilcox is looking to clinch. Wilcox shoots for a double leg takedown but Bates sprawls well. He's pushed Wilcox's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Wilcox displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Bates throws out the jab. Wilcox lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bates circles away quickly and effectively. Bates ducks under a wild hook from Wilcox. Wilcox defending well as Bates loads up on a big left hand. Wilcox lands an overhand right. Wilcox tries to land a front kick but Bates steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Wilcox drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Bates throws a looping overhand right but Wilcox ducks down to avoid it. Bates jabs Wilcox right on the nose. Wilcox blinks but takes it well. Wilcox bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Wilcox fails with a takedown attempt. A shot to the liver by Bates. Beautiful body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wilcox on the wrong end of a nice hook. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Bates checks a leg kick. Wilcox walks into a jab. Bates uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Wilcox has time to react.
Wilcox is rocked! Nice defenses there by Wilcox. Bates bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Wilcox! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Wilcox is still in real trouble! Can Bates finish him? Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bates wants to control from the top but Wilcox keeps moving. Bates postures up.
Bates chips away with some ground and pound. Bates seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Bates loads up on a big left hand. Wilcox felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Bates looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Wilcox can't hide his disappointment, as Bates celebrates the victory.
