Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Penn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Draven! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Draven with a poor takedown and Penn counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Draven shoots for a takedown but Penn saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Penn connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Draven takes a body punch but keeps moving. Jab from Penn. Penn lands a glancing blow to the side of Draven's head. Draven takes a body punch but keeps moving. Good shot there by Penn. Draven with a lazy takedown attempt and Penn counters with a nice leg kick. Paul Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Draven. Penn jabs at Draven's body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Draven scores with a jab to the head.
Draven throws a hook to the side of Penn's head but Penn sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Penn misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Draven.
Penn lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Draven shoots in looking for a takedown. Penn tries to sprawl out of it but Draven keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Penn manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Draven looks gassed! Draven throws a looping overhand right but Penn ducks down to avoid it.
Penn closes the distance and pushes Draven back into the cage.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Penn avoiding damage.
Penn scores with a hook to the body. Penn lands a nice uppercut. Draven is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Penn gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Penn digs a right hand into Draven's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Draven's gas tank. Penn goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Penn lands an elbow inside that Draven shrugs off. Penn misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Draven.
Penn manages to break the clinch.
Penn throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Draven stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Penn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Penn gets a clinch.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Penn tries to work over Draven's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Penn lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Draven being controlled against the cage. Draven can't get the takedown.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Penn is fighting off a takedown attempt but Draven is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Penn to the mat. Penn regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Penn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Draven manages to get himself to full guard.
Penn stands and throws Draven's legs to the side, diving into side control. Penn cracks Draven with a big right hand but Draven just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Draven is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Penn cracks Draven with a big elbow.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn is looking to take a break and control but Draven is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Penn tries for a kimura but Draven is defending well. Draven can't do much from the bottom here. Penn working the ground and pound. Penn is chipping away with strikes.
Draven is trying to escape the position but Penn is controlling the position. Penn creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Penn controls the position from side control.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Penn tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Draven tries to improve position but can't. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Penn cracks Draven with a big elbow. Penn tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Draven is trying to get back to half guard. Penn misses with the ground and pound. Penn trying to control the position but Draven is working away. Penn throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Penn working the head with strikes. Penn cracks Draven with a big right hand but Draven just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The referee asks Penn politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Penn prefers to stall for the moment though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Penn dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Draven takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Draven shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Penn as he jumps to the side. Eric Draven seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Draven shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Penn defends it nicely. Draven fails to land the takedown. Paul Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Draven. Draven tries to move into range but Penn moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Draven takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Penn scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Penn goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Jab, jab by Penn - just one landing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Penn connects with a leg kick. Draven looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Left hook, right uppercut from Penn. Penn is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Draven can do to turn this around? Penn lands a high kick!
Draven misses with a takedown attempt and Penn counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Draven is breathing heavily.
Penn lands a left and a right that sends Draven crashing to the canvas! Penn dives into mount looking to finish!

Draven is rocked!
 That's one minute gone in the round. Draven is bucking up trying to escape but Penn cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Draven is still in real trouble! Can Penn finish him? Penn connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Penn postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Draven bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Penn and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul Penn! A pretty intense looking Paul Penn took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
