Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between AJ Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Atom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam Atom is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atom tries a head kick but it misses.
Atom shoots in but Taylor avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Taylor throws the left hand but Atom avoids the punch easily.
Taylor forces Atom back against the cage and clinches.
Atom tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Taylor just stands there and leans against the cage.
Atom has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Taylor is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
AJ Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Atom.

Atom tries for a takedown but Taylor manages to get underhooks.

and Taylor decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Atom's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taylor pushes down on Atom's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Taylor passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Atom!

Atom can't escape the position.
Atom squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Taylor lands a big shot there that rocks Atom but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Taylor pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Atom manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Atom wants to improve his position but Taylor is controlling well.

Taylor winds up and cracks Atom with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

and Taylor counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Atom looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Taylor puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Taylor lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Taylor makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Atom escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Taylor gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Atom throws his legs up looking for a submission but Taylor uses it to pass to side control.

Taylor has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Atom is desperately trying to improve his position but Taylor has a good base and remains in mount.

AJ Taylor overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
