Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Guerrero!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jonathan Paton and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guerrero swings for the body but Johnson moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Johnson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Johnson doesn't manage to clinch there - Guerrero circles away.
Johnson moves in looking to clinch but Guerrero pushes him off.
A combination from Johnson does no damage.
Guerrero throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Guerrero drops Johnson with a left and a right! Oh, Johnson is hurt - Guerrero dives into side control looking to finish!
Johnson is rocked!
Guerrero decides to stand back up. Guerrero steps back and let's Johnson get back to his feet.
Oh Johnson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Guerrero as he avoids it easily.
Johnson seems to have got his legs back now.
Johnson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Johnson moves into range and clinches up with Guerrero.
Guerrero manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Guerrero swats away the attempt to clinch by Johnson.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice sprawl there from Guerrero as Johnson shoots in.
Johnson misses with a double jab
and Guerrero cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Johnson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Guerrero cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Johnson is breathing heavily.
Johnson tries to clinch
and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Johnson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Guerrero counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Guerrero circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Johnson to the canvas! Johnson doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Guerrero keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pedro Guerrero!
