The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez misses with a shot to the body

and Kickboxer counters by moving into the clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Kickboxer keeps control of Velasquez as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Kickboxer stalling in the clinch.
Velasquez blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A nice left hand lands by Kickboxer.

It looks like Iron Velasquez has been cut.
Kickboxer lands a right hand.
Velasquez is trying to break the clinch but Kickboxer has him pressed against the ropes.

Velasquez wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Kickboxer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

That has opened up Iron Velasquez's cut even more.
Velasquez is looking to break free of the clinch but Kickboxer has double underhooks.
Kickboxer lands a right hand that snaps the head of Velasquez backwards.
Kickboxer is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

The cut above Iron Velasquez's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Velasquez tries to break free but Kickboxer pushes him back against the ropes.
Kickboxer lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Velasquez.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Kickboxer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Kickboxer tries to work over Velasquez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Kickboxer obliges.
Velasquez looks gassed!

Kickboxer lands with a left to the head.

Iron Velasquez's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Kickboxer creates a bit of space for himself and unleashed what can only be described as a tiger uppercut, straight out of Street Fighter! Velasquez crashes to the mat! Can he make it back to his feet in time? 3,4,5, yes, he's made it back to his feet. He seems OK so it looks like we're going to continue!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Iron Velasquez's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Genocide Kickboxer!
Genocide Kickboxer took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
