Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stan Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Elliot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marsh comes to the cage accompanied by The Fight Song. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stan Marsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Elliot!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elliot moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Marsh cracks Elliot with an open hand slap.
Marsh keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Elliot.
Elliot uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Marsh.
Marsh throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Elliot sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Elliot throws a big shot that misses.
Marsh avoids a punch combination nicely.
Elliot keeps the fight on the outside.
Marsh cracks Elliot with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Marsh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Elliot paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Elliot closes this distance looking for a takedown but Marsh circles away.
Marsh throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Elliot throws a lazy right hand but Marsh sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Marsh connects with a jab.
Elliot wants to clinch up but Marsh keeps it at a distance.
Marsh fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Elliot on the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Elliot misses with an uppercut.
Marsh uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Elliot.
Elliot slips under a jab from Marsh.
Marsh bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marsh slips a jab from Elliot.
Marsh feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Elliots jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Marsh gets a clinch.
Elliot swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Marsh is trying to force a seperation but Elliot has the dominant position.
Elliot lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Marsh backwards.
Marsh is trying to break the clinch but Elliot is controlling him.
Elliot can't get the takedown.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Elliot.

Elliot manages to break the clinch.

Elliot darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Elliot is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Marsh is positioning himself well to prevent Elliot advancing to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Elliot is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Marsh has managed to free his arm - good work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Elliot is working for a submission of some sort.
Marsh has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Elliot is working away from the top position though.
Marsh is looking for a sweep. Elliot is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Marsh is looking to control Elliot's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Marsh avoid being mounted?

Elliot is looking for a kimura but Marsh is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Elliot to get the leverage.

Elliot working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Marsh's thigh. Marsh counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Marsh is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Elliot is controlling him.
Elliot postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Elliot prevents Marsh from getting back to his feet.
Marsh is wriggling around but Elliot manages to pass to half guard.
Marsh is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Elliot's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Elliot's back!
Elliot looking very determined here, making life difficult for Marsh.
Elliot is trying to break free.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Elliot breaks Marsh's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Marsh controlling Elliot's posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Elliot drops back, looking for a kneebar! Marsh looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Marsh looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Marsh!
Marsh tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Marsh wants to control but Elliot is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stan Marsh dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Elliot pushes Marsh up against the cage in a clinch.
Elliot tries for a takedown. No joy.

Marsh pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Marsh tries to clinch up but Elliot circles away and keeps his distance.
Marsh slips under a jab.
Marsh steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Elliot.
Elliot throws a hook to the side of Marsh's head but Marsh sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Elliot takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Elliot uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Marsh.
Marsh fails in his attempt to clinch.
Marsh tries to clinch but Elliot moves out of range.
Elliot has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Marsh.
Elliot moves away from the strike by Marsh.
Elliot tries to clinch there but Marsh circles away.
Marsh cracks Elliot with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Elliot takes a jab right on the kisser.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Marsh tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Elliot manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Elliot fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Marsh sprawls well initially but Elliot persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Elliot is working for a kimura but Marsh is defending it quite comfortably.
Elliot is thwarting Marsh's attempts to control the position.
Marsh is pressing down on Elliot's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Elliot throws a big elbow that misses.

Elliot is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Marsh is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Marsh has escaped and now he's on top!

Elliot is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Elliot is breathing heavily.

Elliot escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marsh gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Elliot can do anything to dispel that myth.
Marsh trying to control but Elliot is working from the bottom.

Elliot throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Marsh escapes and throws Elliot's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Elliot is working to avoid the ground and pound but Marsh connects with a decent elbow.
Elliot tries to bench press Marsh off him but Marsh keeps the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Marsh looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Elliot tries to improve position but can't.
Marsh works to advance to full mount. Elliot defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
A nice elbow there by Marsh.
Elliot is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Marsh trying to control but Elliot is having none of it.
Elliot is trying to escape the mount.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
