Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aaron Witt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Garry Gudini! The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gudini rushes Witt and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Witt avoids the elbow strike from Gudini, against the cage.
Witt wants the takedown. Gudini is fighting it off but Witt persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Gudini's guard against the cage. Witt is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Witt throwing strikes from guard but Gudini blocks nicely. Witt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Witt controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Witt lands a couple of decent looking shots. Gudini can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Witt controls the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Witt has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Aaron Witt. Gudini moves into the clinch. Witt blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Witt lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Witt has picked Gudini up - he's going for a ride! Witt dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Still in half guard, Witt seems content to control. Witt working the head and body with strikes. Witt slips a nice elbow through Gudini's hands, connecting with Gudini's forehead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Witt has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Gudini defend it? Witt steps over the head and cranks it - Gudini is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Witt!
