PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Stevie Thatcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andreago Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Thatcher might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to party and bullshit. Silva is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Rich Boy-Get To Poppin. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Thatcher does no damage.
Thatcher keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Silva on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Thatcher. Thatcher obviously looking to wear him down.

Thatcher changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Silva looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Thatcher is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Silva is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Thatcher to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Thatcher shrugs it off.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Thatcher has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Thatcher throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thatcher off to one side.
Silva dives in and grabs Thatcher's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thatcher pushes down on Silva's head and hops out.
Stevie Thatcher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Stevie Thatcher will probably get the nod.

Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thatcher sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Thatcher enables Silva to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Thatcher manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Silva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Thatcher is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Silva, into his guard.
