The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Neill shoots in and bounces Penn off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Penn is controlling O Neill's posture.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
O Neill throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Penn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Horrible takedown by Penn or perhaps it was just good defense by O Neill which made him look bad.
