The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aleksandrov is looking to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Aleksandrov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Thomas catches Aleksandrov with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Thomas looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Aleksandrov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Aleksandrov works his way to full guard. Good work.
Aleksandrov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thomas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Thomas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Aleksandrov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Thomas defends it easily.
Thomas working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Aleksandrov's head.

Thomas wants to pass the guard but Aleksandrov is keeping the position.
Aleksandrov throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Thomas escapes and throws Aleksandrov's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Aleksandrov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Aleksandrov takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Aleksandrov is not content to let Thomas control the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thomas lands a strong strike to the head of Aleksandrov. That's dazed him! Thomas looking to finish here. Aleksandrov is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Thomas lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
