PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Tucker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sokure Randall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randall has chosen bodies as his entrance music. Sokure Randall struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Tucker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Sokure Randall!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randall fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Randall misses with an uppercut.
Randall pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Randall fails to land the takedown.
Randall looks gassed!
Randall tries to work over Tucker's front leg with a kick but Tucker checks it.
Tucker staying out of range there.
Tucker really is a fat lump.
Randall is looking to clinch but Tucker is avoiding it.

Tucker decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Tucker is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Randall is just riding it out for now. Tucker eventually gives up the hold.

Tucker is working for a kimura but Randall is defending it quite comfortably.

Tucker is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Randall is trying to maintain the position but Tucker is very close to passing his half guard.

Randall looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tucker is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Randall has managed to free his arm - good work.
Tucker has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Tucker working for a guillotine from mount but Randall is in no mood to give up.
Tucker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Randall on the ground.

Tucker jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Randall manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Randall tries to buck Tucker off but Tucker is having none of it.
Randall wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

Tucker tries for a kimura but Randall is defending well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Randall wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Tucker working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Randall tries to buck Tucker off but Tucker is having none of it.

Tucker is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Randall knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Randall is looking for a sweep.

Randall manages to get back to half guard.
Randall regains full guard. Nicely done.

Tucker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Randall looking for a sweep. Not yet Randall, not yet.
Randall doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Tucker drops back, looking for a kneebar! Randall looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Randall looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Randall!
Randall wants to control but Tucker is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Randall decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Randall just misses with a punch to the body.

Tucker scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Randall tries to roll over but Tucker keeps him under control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tucker is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sam Tucker will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Randall shoots for a double leg takedown but Tucker sprawls well. He's pushed Randall's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Tucker fails with the takedown.
Randall looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tucker is fending him off so far but Randall persists. Nope, Tucker circles away and we're back to standing.

Tucker closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Randall did well to prevent Tucker getting side control.

Tucker is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Randall defends it well.

Tucker is working for a kimura but Randall is defending it quite comfortably.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Randall is defending against the submission attempts here by Tucker.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Randall gets full guard.

Tucker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tucker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Randall lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Tucker!

Randall get's back to his feet.
Randall wants to clinch.
Sokure Randall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Randall wants to clinch but Tucker slips to the side

and Tucker counters with a shoot takedown. Randall fights it but they end up in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Randall has his foot on Tucker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tucker works his way back into a safe position though.

Tucker drops back looking for a leg! Randall is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Randall manages to kick Tucker off! Tucker jumps back into Randall's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Randall working for a triangle but Tucker defends it easily.
Tucker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Randall swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tucker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Randall is looking to sinch up a triangle. Tucker throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Randall's body to avoid the submission. Randall has instead reached around Tucker's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Randall arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Sokure Randall!
Sokure Randall bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
