Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sarmith Creston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Creston comes into the arena with Beat it blaring out of the sound system. On his way into the cage it seems that Sarmith Creston has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Sarmith Creston seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sarmith Creston!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eddie Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Creston moves in looking to clinch but Alvarez pushes him off.

Creston takes the fight into the clinch.

Alvarez pulls Creston into guard.
Creston won't allow Alvarez to sweep him here.
Creston wants to control from the top but Alvarez keeps moving.
Alvarez trying to keep a closed guard but Creston is proving a slippery customer.

Alvarez is looking for a triangle here but Creston uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Alvarez is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Creston off and has taken his back!

Creston tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Creston sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Creston is trying to maintain the position but Alvarez is very close to passing his half guard.
Creston wants to improve his position but Alvarez is controlling well.
Creston is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Alvarez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Alvarez's back!

Creston is trying to stick to Alvarez's back but Alvarez is turning into Creston. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Creston's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Alvarez.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Creston wants to sweep here but Alvarez controlling him for the moment.

You can see the frustration on Creston's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Creston is trying to maintain the position but Alvarez is very close to passing his half guard.
Creston is looking to get back to full guard here but Alvarez has managed to pass to side control instead.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Creston tries to bench press Alvarez off him but Alvarez keeps the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alvarez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Alvarez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Alvarez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Creston is looking for a sweep.
Creston manages to work his way to half guard, despite Alvarez's best efforts.

Creston bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alvarez's guard.

Creston tries to free his leg and advance position but Alvarez is retaining full guard.

Creston is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Creston wants to control but Alvarez is keeping him busy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alvarez wants to improve his position but Creston is controlling well.

Creston seems to be looking for submissions.

Creston seems to be working for a kimura but Alvarez defends the submission attempt.

Creston works his way into full mount!
Alvarez is desperately trying to improve his position but Creston has a good base and remains in mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Creston will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Creston shoots in and gets a takedown into Alvarez's guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Creston passes Alvarez's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Creston is keen to just control but Alvarez is a slippery customer.

Eddie Alvarez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Creston looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Creston is looking to advance position but Alvarez won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Sarmith Creston just wasn't active enough.

Alvarez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Alvarez lands in his opponent's guard.

Alvarez is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Creston gets his way!
