Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Johan Hahl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Roenick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Randy Roenick has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Johan Hahl's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johan Hahl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Randy Roenick!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hahl tries to clinch there but Roenick circles away.
Roenick wants to clinch.
Roenick throws a body punch but Hahl moves out of range.
Roenick leaves Hahl with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hahl tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Roenick swivels and escapes.

Hahl gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Hahl has picked Roenick up - he's going for a ride! Hahl dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hahl wants to lay and pray for a moment but Roenick keeps working.

Hahl looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Roenick with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Hahl is taking a breather. Roenick says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Johan Hahl has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Hahl will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Roenick lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Roenick darts in and clinches Hahl up against the cage.
Roenick has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Roenick lands a left hand that snaps the head of Hahl backwards.
Roenick is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hahl is defending well for now.
Roenick has had enough of the clinch but Hahl keeps him there for the moment.

Hahl manages to break the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hahl misses with a looping right.
Roenick throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Roenick doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Randy Roenick is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Roenick jabs Hahl to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Hahl, as that shot connected.
Hahl scores with a leg kick.

Hahl throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Roenick tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hahl is in Roenick's guard.
Hahl is breathing heavily.
Roenick is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hahl lands a couple of digs.
Hahl has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Roenick not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hahl throwing strikes from guard but Roenick blocks nicely.
Hahl prevents Roenick from getting back to his feet.

Hahl trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Hahl is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hahl avoids the body shot from Roenick.
Roenick misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hahl lands with a hook. Roenick tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Roenick throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hahl tries to score a body lock takedown but Roenick shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

The crowd are getting on Roenick's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.

Hahl gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Hahl won't allow Roenick to get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Roenick can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hahl seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roenick does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Roenick is trying to maintain the position but Hahl is very close to passing his half guard.
Johan Hahl overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Roenick is doing well to control the position and prevent Hahl from advancing to side control.
Roenick is refusing to be controlled, as Hahl sits in half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hahl shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Roenick throws a front kick aimed at Hahl's knee but Hahl avoids it well.
Roenick bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hahl's head backwards.

Roenick goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hahl tries to clinch but Roenick moves out of range.
Hahl tries for a takedown but Roenick sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Roenick tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hahl swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Randy Roenick comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Roenick has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
