The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stanlay tries to close the distance and clinch up but Shango swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Shango changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stanlay tries to avoid it but Shango manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stanlay to the ground. Stanlay escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Papa Shango. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Shango decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stanlay's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Stanlay had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Shango is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Stanlay Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Shango's back instead.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Stanlay is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Shango is defending well though. Stanlay let's go of the attempt for now.

Stanlay lands with a right and another and another! Shango is in big trouble! Stanlay lands again and this time it's lights out for Shango! A quality knockout there for Stanlay.
