The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berg slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Left hook, right uppercut from Berg.
Maldonado bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Maldonado goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Berg has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Maldonado but great work by Berg.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Maldonado is looking to reverse the position.
Maldonado is trying to work for a sweep but Berg has mounted him!
Berg controlling the pace for now.
Maldonado tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Berg controlling his opponent.
Maldonado is trying to reverse the position but instead Berg has taken his back - oops!

Maldonado can't escape the position.
Maldonado turns into Berg and is now in his guard.
Maldonado wants to pass the guard but Berg is keeping the position.
Berg bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Maldonado's guard.
Berg stands up and waves to Maldonado to follow him.
No luck for Maldonado with that takedown attempt.

Berg cracks Maldonado with a right hand to the side of the head.
Berg lands a nice looking body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Berg fails to land with a series of punches.
Sloppy strikes from Berg. Those never looked like landing.
Berg lands a glancing blow to the side of Maldonado's head.
Maldonado drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Berg misses with a right hand
and Maldonado counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Maldonado is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Berg is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Berg has escaped and now he's on top!

Maldonado working for submissions but it's allowed Berg to get to half guard.

Berg escapes and gets back to his feet.
Berg misses with a few strikes there.

Berg scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Berg lands a right hook to the body.
Maldonado is breathing heavily.
Maldonado takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Berg connects with the punch.
Maldonado needs to keep his hands up - Berg had a free shot at his head there.
Berg cracks Maldonado with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Maldonado falls to his knees and Berg doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
