PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bj Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Worner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans comes into the arena with Pride FC blaring out of the sound system. Worner has chosen lets go by lil john as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans circles away from the clinch attempt.
Worner tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Worner misses with a jab, cross combination.
Worner doesn't manage to clinch there - Evans circles away.
Evans has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Evans swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Evans throws a sloppy head kick and Worner moves out of range easily.

Evans moves into range and clinches up with Worner.

Evans throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Worner was covering up waiting for the punch and Evans finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Evans has gone for a leg lock! Worner slips out almost immediately though and dives into Evans's guard.
Evans will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Austin Worner hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Evans throws a nice inside leg kick.
Evans fakes the leg kick and cracks Worner in the body.
Worner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Evans as he jumps to the side.

Evans fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Worner sprawls well initially but Evans persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Evans stands up out of the half guard.

Evans fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Worner, pushing him back against the cage.

Evans breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Evans tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Worner manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Worner takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
This has been an exciting period of action!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

and Evans counters with a solid body kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Worner enables Evans to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Worner manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Worner throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Evans escapes and throws Worner's legs to the side, diving into side control!
