The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
William misses with the combination.
William just misses with a punch to the body.
Oleynik misses with a body shot.
Oleynik lands a nice looking kick to the body. William takes a step back to recover.

William closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
William is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Oleynik is defending well for now.
William just leaning against Oleynik, taking a breather.

William has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Oleynik regains guard immediately.
Oleynik is trying to control the position from the bottom.
William trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
William trying to move into half guard but instead Oleynik has managed to sweep!

Oleynik wants to control from the top but William keeps moving.

Oleynik drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and William dives on top into guard.
William stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oleynik swivels though and keeps the full guard.

William avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oleynik wants to sweep here but William controlling him for the moment.
Oleynik is trying to keep William in close.
Oleynik is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
William works over Oleynik with some ground and pound from guard.
Oleynik not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
William throwing strikes but missing.

William postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Oleynik keeping moving, preventing William from controlling successfully.
William throws a strike but Oleynik rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
This has been an exciting period of action!

William escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Oleynik gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Oleynik passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Oleynik tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
William sneaks back into half guard.
Oleynik wants to pass to mount but William is defending the position.
William moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Oleynik must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

William quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Oleynik has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! William celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
