Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Triton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Triton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Scott! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Franklyn Lucas and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scott misses with a few strikes there.
Scott stuffs the takedown. Triton clinches. Scott stops a takedown attempt from Triton.
Scott drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Triton dives in and grabs Scott's left leg, looking for a takedown. Scott pushes down on Triton's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Triton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Scott swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice sprawl there from Scott as Triton shoots in. Triton clinches up against the cage. Scott is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Triton gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Scott.
Triton wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Scott has him pressed against the cage. Triton keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Scott's efforts to push away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scott is trying to push Triton away but Triton has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Triton stalling in the clinch.
Triton is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Scott pulls him back up using the underhooks. Scott goes for a takedown attempt but Triton pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
No luck for Triton with that takedown attempt. Scott connects with a body shot. Michael Scott is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Triton gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Triton dodges the punch combination from Scott.
Scott throws a hook but Triton avoids it easily. Scott looks to land a combination but Triton avoids it well. Scott stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Scott wants it to stay on the feet. Scott throws a push kick but Triton slaps the foot to one side. Triton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Scott's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Triton controlling from the top position. Triton won't allow Scott to get back to his feet. Scott scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Scott throws a right and a left that both miss. Scott misses with a double jab
and Triton counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Scott! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Triton will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A right-left combo lands from Scott. Triton shoots in but Scott avoids the takedown attempt easily. Scott tries to bum rush Triton with a series of wild strikes but Triton uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Triton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Scott is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Triton is controlling him. Triton is standing up over Scott. Scott looks to escape but Triton dives into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Scott regains half guard there - taking advantage of Triton's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Triton is working for a submission of some sort.
Scott makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Scott throws a nice looking combination but Triton bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Triton showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Scott.
Scott looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Scott throws a right hand that Triton ducks under and follows up with a left that Triton also avoids with ease. Triton closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Scott's guard. Triton passes Scott's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Triton looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Scott is looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Triton in particular looking to stall. Scott is defending against the submission attempts here by Triton.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Triton sitting and controlling from the half guard. Scott is trying to stand back up but Triton is controlling him
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Triton content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Triton is working for a kimura but Scott is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Triton dominated that second round. That's time! Triton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Scott throws a low kick but it's checked well by Triton. Triton fails to land the takedown. Triton avoids the head kick by Scott.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Triton closes the distance and clinches up with Scott, looking for a takedown. Triton pushes Scott against the cage but Scott circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Triton has Scott up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Triton is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Triton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Triton wants a takedown.

Triton has Scott pressed against the cage, preventing Scott from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Triton drops down looking for an ankle pick but Scott pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scott defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Triton. Scott gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Triton is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Scott is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Scott has escaped and now he's on top! Triton looking for a sweep. Not yet Triton, not yet. Scott with a nice head shot there. Scott drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Triton manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Scott has Triton in his guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Scott wants to stand up but Triton is controlling him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Triton sitting in guard, not really doing much. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Triton trying to control the position from guard on top but Scott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Triton prevents Scott from getting back to his feet. Triton trying to control but Scott is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Triton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Scott is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Scott really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Triton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up because John Triton just wasn't active enough. Scott fails to land with a series of punches.

And that's the end of the fight! John Triton showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Triton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
