Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shaun Akers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shaun Akers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, John Doe! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akers throws a series of punches but Doe avoids them all with ease. Akers swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Doe counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Akers looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Doe showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Akers.
Akers misses with a combination
and Doe counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Akers is lucky that one didn't land flush. Shaun Akers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Akers tries to bum rush Doe with a series of wild strikes but Doe uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Doe scores with a one two! Akers had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
It looks like Shaun Akers has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Doe showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Akers.
Akers is breathing heavily. Doe connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Akers is rocked! Akers throws a left and a right that both miss
and Doe counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Akers badly! Doe follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Akers out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Doe finished him against the cage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). John Doe!
