Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ted Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Soul Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ted Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Soul Evans!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Anthony Taglia and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Evans misses with a jab, cross combination.
Diaz fails with an attempt to clinch.
Diaz misses with a low kick.
Diaz tries to clinch
and Evans counters with a two punch combo.
Evans swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Diaz misses with a head kick.
Evans tries to bum rush Diaz with a series of wild strikes but Diaz uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Evans throws a body kick that misses.

Diaz dives in and scores a takedown into Evans's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Diaz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Diaz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Evans has a closed guard, preventing Diaz from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Evans wants to sweep here but Diaz controlling him for the moment.

Soul Evans dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Diaz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Evans sprawls well. Evans wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet.
Evans lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Evans.


It looks like Ted Diaz has been cut.
Evans throws a right and a left that both miss.
An inside leg kick from Evans misses.
Diaz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Diaz blocks a low kick nicely.

Evans moves into the clinch.
Diaz wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ted Diaz. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Diaz is trying to push Evans away but Evans has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Evans feints a jab promting Diaz to slip. Evans then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Diaz slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Soul Evans seems to be getting the better of the standup.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Evans throws out a leg kick but Diaz moves out of range and Evans only half commits.

Evans drops Diaz with a right and a left! Evans comes rushing in but Diaz regains his composure and manages to keep Evans in guard.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Diaz is looking to clinch but Evans is avoiding it.

The referee asks Evans politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Evans prefers to stall for the moment though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Diaz walks into a straight right hand from Evans.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Evans but Evans pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Evans throws a low kick but Diaz moves out of range easily.
Evans buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Ted Diaz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Evans throws a chopping leg kick but Diaz manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Diaz tries to roll over but Evans keeps him under control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Soul Evans comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Evans has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
