Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chris Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kobe Kovain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kovain has chosen Orbital Crusher as his entrance music. Jones has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Chris Jones has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kobe Kovain! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kovain pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones is breathing heavily. Jones blocks a head kick by Kovain.
Jones avoids the head kick by Kovain.
Kovain throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily. Jones needs to keep his hands up - Kovain had a free shot at his head there. Jones with a lazy takedown attempt and Kovain counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Kovain tries a head kick but it misses.
Good shot there by Kovain. Kovain looks to land a combination. Jones sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Chris Jones has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kovain lands a jab to the nose.
Jones is rocked! Kovain looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Oh Jones is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Kovain wants to pass the guard but Jones is keeping the position.

Kovain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kobe Kovain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kovain scores with a one two! Jones had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Kovain lands a slapping body shot.

Kovain fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but Kovain persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kovain's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kovain's back! Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Jones.
Jones working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Kovain wants to control his opponent's hands but Jones gets his hands free. Jones is punishing Kovain with strikes - can he finish him?! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kovain is really stuck here.
Kovain is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Jones.

Kovain looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. Kovain is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Jones is punishing Kovain with strikes - can he finish him?! Jones lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Kovain hold on?!
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kovain has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jones not allowing Kovain to control his hands.

Kovain really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jones somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones controlling well, preventing Kovain from escaping the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones scores with punches to the body. Jones throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Kovain!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Jones controlling well, preventing Kovain from escaping the position.
Jones lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Kovain throws a series of strikes that have Jones backpedaling.
Kovain catches Jones with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Kovain feints a jab promting Jones to slip. Kovain then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jones slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Kovain throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily. Kovain connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kovain throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kovain thuds a left hand into Jones's body. Kovain tries to clinch up. Kovain moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off. Jones keeps the fight on the outside. Kovain misses with a body kick. Kovain throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jones on the side of the head. Kovain shoots in and gets a takedown into Jones's guard. Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kovain doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kovain manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kovain preventing the sweep. Kovain wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. Jones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jones tries to get out of the position. Jones looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Kovain throws a big elbow that misses. Kovain postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kovain wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Kovain in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kovain pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now. Kovain postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it. Kovain trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Kovain tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard. Kovain trying to move into half guard but instead Jones has managed to sweep! Jones controlling from the top position. Kovain wants to stand up but Jones is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kovain wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment. Kovain is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Kovain is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Chris Jones. Kovain lands a two punch combo.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kovain throws a push kick but Jones slaps the foot to one side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kobe Kovain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Chris Jones's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Jones takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Kovain motions for Jones to come forward. Kovain throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Kovain moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Kovain pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Jones back to the cage. Kovain follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Kovain is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
Kovain stalks Jones and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jones's face. Jones staggers backwards, shaken. Chris Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kovain shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jones's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jones wants to sweep but no luck. Jones managing to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kovain postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it. Kovain throwing strikes but missing. Kovain trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Jones pulls Kovain in close to prevent any damage. Kovain must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Kovain lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones avoids the head kick by Kovain.
Kovain jabs Jones to the body, keeping him at a distance. Kovain lands with a good body shot. No joy there for Kovain, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jones fails with the takedown. Kovain misses with a body kick. Kovain dips to his left and cracks Jones with an uppercut! Jones fails with the takedown and Kovain counters with a three punch combo that has Jones backing up. Jones nods at Kovain to acknowledge the strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones throws out a leg kick but Kovain moves out of range and Jones only half commits. Kovain is working the combinations to good effect here. Kovain throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily. Left hook, right uppercut from Kovain. Kovain is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Jones misses with a head kick.
Jones takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Jones takes a shot right to the bread basket. Kovain connects with a body shot that sends Jones's belly button to the back. Jones blocks a head kick by Kovain.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kovain counters with a one-two to the body. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kovain throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones. Kovain misses with a body kick. Jones takes a shot right to the bread basket. Jones looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Kovain tries a head kick but it misses.
Jab, jab by Kovain - just one landing. Jones blocks a head kick by Kovain.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kovain digs a good body shot into Jones's ribs. Chris Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kobe Kovain is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kovain moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Kobe Kovain comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kovain has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
