Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lee Jefferson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jefferson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A slapping body kick lands there for Jefferson. Jefferson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Diaz as he avoids it easily. Diaz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Diaz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Diaz sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Diaz thowing shots but they're missing. Diaz lands a heavy elbow. Jefferson is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Diaz breaks from Jefferson's wrist control and lands an elbow. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jefferson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Diaz throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Jefferson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Diaz misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jefferson is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Diaz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jefferson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jefferson wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Diaz.
