The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
D Amico stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from St Pietro.

D Amico closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. St Pietro quickly recovers to half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. D Amico connects with a nice short shot to St Pietro's temple.
St Pietro wants to control but D Amico is keeping busy.
St Pietro is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
D Amico has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
D Amico throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

St Pietro pushes D Amico off and gets back to his feet.
St Pietro is looking to clinch.
St Pietro throws a lazy uppercut
and D Amico cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
D Amico takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

It looks like Anthony D Amico has been cut.

D Amico closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

D Amico is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so St Pietro is just riding it out for now. D Amico eventually gives up the hold.

D Amico is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but St Pietro still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, St Pietro has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
