Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tage McNutt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Wesley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McNutt comes to the cage accompanied by A Warrior's Call. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Wesley! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Wesley enables McNutt to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wesley manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Wesley is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. McNutt trying to hold on to Wesley's head to control him but Wesley postures up.
Wesley should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. McNutt wants to get back to full guard. McNutt wants to get back to his feet.
McNutt misses with some strikes from the bottom.

McNutt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. McNutt fails with a takedown attempt. McNutt decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. McNutt wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wesley keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wesley looking for submissions off his back. McNutt trying to mount his opponent but Wesley defends it.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Tage McNutt just wasn't active enough. Wesley fakes a jab and throws a low kick but McNutt checks it well. McNutt clinches.

McNutt has his hands on Wesley's head, controlling the position. McNutt keeping moving, preventing Wesley from controlling successfully. McNutt looking to control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Wesley being controlled here momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McNutt gets a clinch. McNutt tries to pull guard but Wesley holds him up against the cage and eventually McNutt drops back down to his feet.
McNutt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. McNutt slips a jab and a cross from Wesley.

He's got hold of a leg but Wesley swivels and escapes.
That's one minute gone in the round. McNutt shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. McNutt stalling away here and it's allowed Wesley to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Wesley trying to keep a closed guard but McNutt is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tage McNutt wasn't doing enough on the ground. Wesley moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. McNutt gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Wesley counters with a left and a right that stings McNutt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McNutt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Wesley sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McNutt somewhat. Wesley misses with a head kick.

Tage McNutt dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

and McNutt counters with a stiff right hand. Wesley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Wesley slips a jab and a cross from McNutt.
McNutt shoots in and drives through. Wesley sprawls well. McNutt misses with a takedown attempt - Wesley sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. McNutt misses with a head kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Wesley looks to land a combination but McNutt avoids it well. McNutt clinches with his opponent.
McNutt tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tage McNutt. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McNutt shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McNutt showed some decent athleticism there. McNutt wants to stand but Wesley has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Tage McNutt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wesley wants to control but McNutt is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by John Wesley. Wesley slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. McNutt shoots for a double leg takedown but Wesley sprawls well. He's pushed McNutt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Wesley throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McNutt. Wesley misses with a double jab.
McNutt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wesley sprawls well. Wesley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McNutt gets slowly back to his feet. McNutt closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McNutt checks the leg kick nicely there.
McNutt doesn't manage to clinch there - Wesley circles away.
Wesley throws a head kick that misses. A head kick by Wesley misses and McNutt counters with a takedown into side control. McNutt looking to control but instead Wesley has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Wesley makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wesley.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McNutt being controlled here momentarily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McNutt trying to control but Wesley is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Tage McNutt showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for McNutt, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
