Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Damian Blaszczyk! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Costa! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Costa tries to close the distance and clinch up but Blaszczyk swats him away and circles back towards the center. Costa closes the distance and pushes Blaszczyk back into the cage. Blaszczyk tries to pull guard but Costa forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Costa. Blaszczyk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Costa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blaszczyk tries to avoid it but Costa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blaszczyk to the ground. Blaszczyk escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Costa is looking to clinch but Blaszczyk is avoiding it.

It looks like Damian Blaszczyk has been cut. Blaszczyk drives through and clinches with Costa against the cage.
Costa with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Blaszczyk is breathing heavily. Costa tries to pull guard but Blaszczyk holds him up against the cage and eventually Costa drops back down to his feet.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Costa obliges. Blaszczyk is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Costa is defending well. This has been an exciting period of action! Costa fails to pull the fight into his guard.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Costa wants to clinch up but Blaszczyk keeps it at a distance. Costa moves in looking to clinch but Blaszczyk pushes him off. Blaszczyk fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Costa checks it well. Costa shoots in but no luck this time. Blaszczyk tries to score a power double leg takedown but Costa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Blaszczyk somewhat. Costa lands a jab. Costa leaves Blaszczyk with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Costa shoots for a takedown but Blaszczyk saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Blaszczyk throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Costa was covering up waiting for the punch and Blaszczyk finishes the takedown easily into guard. Costa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Blaszczyk wants to control from the top but Costa keeps moving. Costa has a closed guard, preventing Blaszczyk from standing up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Costa lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Blaszczyk! Costa is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Costa paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Blaszczyk throws a combination that misses and Costa counters with a big head kick but Blaszczyk shrugs it off.
Damian Blaszczyk's cut is getting worse. Costa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Costa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Blaszczyk as he avoids it easily. That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Blaszczyk accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Blaszczyk looking to sit in guard and control but Costa gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Blaszczyk looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Blaszczyk keeping moving, preventing Costa from controlling successfully. Costa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blaszczyk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Costa engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Antonio Costa hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Blaszczyk shoots in but Costa avoids the takedown attempt easily. Costa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Costa fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Blaszczyk looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Damian Blaszczyk has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Antonio Costa is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Costa tries to clinch up but Blaszczyk circles away and keeps his distance.
And that's the end of the fight! Antonio Costa comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Costa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
