Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adam Hoppus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcin Jyasdga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam Hoppus could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Marcin Jyasdga's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Adam Hoppus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marcin Jyasdga! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoppus looking for a takedown here - he's got it. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Jyasdga working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hoppus has passed into half guard!

Well, if Hoppus is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jyasdga wants to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jyasdga looking for submissions off his back. Hoppus is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Adam Hoppus just wasn't active enough. Jyasdga bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Hoppus throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jyasdga was covering up waiting for the punch and Hoppus finishes the takedown easily into guard. Hoppus not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoppus wanted to stand there but Jyasdga had control of the position. Hoppus stands up and waves to Jyasdga to follow him. Hoppus pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A punch combination from Jyasdga misses. Jyasdga throws a right and a left that both miss. Hoppus shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jyasdga is trying to defend but Hoppus finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Hoppus is looking to advance position but Jyasdga won't allow it. Hoppus stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Jyasdga to get to his feet. Jyasdga throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hoppus. Jyasdga misses with a series of wild punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoppus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hoppus closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jyasdga to the mat! Jyasdga manages to get full guard. Hoppus is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Hoppus has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jyasdga is proving hard to escape from. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hoppus stands up from Jyasdga's guard - Hoppus perhaps looking for a knockout. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jyasdga swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Adam Hoppus dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Hoppus moves into the clinch successfully.
Hoppus jumps guard but Jyasdga stands there with Hoppus around his waist. Hoppus gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hoppus gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hoppus decides to return to a standing position. Jyasdga throws a series of punches but Hoppus avoids them all with ease. Jyasdga misses with the combination.

and Hoppus counters with a single leg into guard. Jyasdga didn't expect that. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jyasdga tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hoppus working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hoppus is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Jyasdga throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hoppus escapes and throws Jyasdga's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoppus decides to stand back up. Hoppus steps back and let's Jyasdga get back to his feet. Some wild striking there from Jyasdga.
Hoppus feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Jyasdga had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hoppus defends it easily. Jyasdga is breathing heavily. Hoppus landing some decent shots from guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoppus showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Adam Hoppus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Jyasdga keeping moving, preventing Hoppus from controlling successfully. Jyasdga is trying to control the position but Hoppus postures up. Hoppus stopping the sweep attempt from Jyasdga. Jyasdga working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hoppus has passed into half guard!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoppus is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jyasdga has managed to free his arm - good work. Jyasdga has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hoppus is working away from the top position though. Hoppus content to control rather than advance. Hoppus wants to pass the guard but Jyasdga is defending well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoppus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jyasdga keeps working. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Hoppus blocks the strikes from Jyasdga.
Jyasdga is staying active underneath Hoppus, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Adam Hoppus. Hoppus shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Hoppus cracks Jyasdga with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hoppus takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Hoppus manages to capitalize on a mistake by Jyasdga to take his back! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jyasdga controls Hoppus momentarily but Hoppus frees himself. Hoppus gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Hoppus throws a leg kick that misses. Hoppus shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hoppus was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jyasdga tries to reverse the position but Hoppus maintains control. Hoppus putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Hoppus unloading with bombs! Hoppus controlling from mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoppus throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Hoppus controlling from the full mount. Hoppus prevents Jyasdga from getting the reversal. Hoppus trying to control but Jyasdga is having none of it. Jyasdga tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoppus working the ground and pound effectively.
Jyasdga is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hoppus tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Hoppus jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jyasdga manages to avoid the submission attempt. Hoppus tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jyasdga struggling a bit here. Jyasdga sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Hoppus throwing shots but Jyasdga is blocking nicely. Hoppus stalling. Jyasdga looking for subs from the bottom but Hoppus mounts him!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoppus unloads with some shots from mount but Jyasdga bucks and avoids them well.

It looks like Marcin Jyasdga has been cut. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hoppus content just to control the position here.
And that's the end of the fight! Adam Hoppus showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hoppus, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
