Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ichigo Kurosagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Newby Staples (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Newby Staples enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Staples gets caught flat footed, as Kurosagi shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Staples looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Kurosagi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Kurosagi drops back looking for a leg! Staples is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Staples manages to kick Kurosagi off! Kurosagi jumps back into Staples's guard.
Kurosagi wants to pass the guard but Staples is keeping the position.
Kurosagi passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Kurosagi looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Kurosagi tries to advance position but instead Staples slips a leg back in to half guard.

Kurosagi seems to be looking for submissions.
Staples tries to roll over but Kurosagi keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kurosagi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Staples doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kurosagi.

Kurosagi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kurosagi looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Kurosagi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Staples is just riding it out for now. Kurosagi eventually gives up the hold.
