Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanfield is trying hard to land a takedown here. Place sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Horrible takedown by Place or perhaps it was just good defense by Stanfield which made him look bad.
Stanfield shoots in for a double leg but Place sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Place could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Place misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Stanfield shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Place napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Stanfield lands a decent elbow from side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stanfield tries to move into full mount but can't pass Place's legs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Place is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Stanfield off and has taken his back!

Stanfield defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Place's arms.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stanfield is in bad spot here.
Place has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Place is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Stanfield with him. Stanfield is trying to defend but Place has an arm under the chin now! Stanfield grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Hopeless Place!
