Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hong Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Pierre Bernard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Li comes to the cage accompanied by Na Boquinha da Garrafa. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li looks for the body kick but Bernard saw that one coming.
Li tries a head kick but it misses.
Li uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bernard.
Li throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Li keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bernard.
Li rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bernard moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bernard misses with a right hand
and Li counters with a nice kick to the body.
Li connects with a body shot that sends Bernard's belly button to the back.

Hong Li seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A lazy left from Li finds it's target.

Li throws a half hearted mid kick.
Li leaves Bernard with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Li dips to his left and cracks Bernard with an uppercut!

Li throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bernard stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Li goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Li looks for the body kick but Bernard saw that one coming.
Li blocks a head kick by Bernard.
Bernard fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Li manages to avoid it.
Li throws out a powerful jab.
Li uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Li misses with a low kick.
Bernard gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Li lands with a thumping leg kick.
Li changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Bernard moves out of range of the body kick.
Bernard blocks the body kick.

Bernard tries to bum rush Li with a series of wild strikes but Li uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bernard on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Hong Li is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bernard takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bernard shoots for a takedown but Li saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Bernard crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Li - the referee stops the clock and Bernard gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Li. Bernard manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Li scores with a hook to the body. Bernard takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Bernard misses with a hook
and Li counters with a nice kick to the body.
Li looks to land a combination but Bernard avoids it well.
A left lands for Li.
Li lands a high kick!
Bernard is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Li lands a front kick.
Bernard is still on wobbly legs! Can Li finish him?
Bernard is breathing heavily.
Bernard takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Crack! A monster head kick from Li and Bernard falls like a tree - timbeeeeeeeeeeerrrr! A highlight reel knockout by Li!
