Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eddy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Capo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Capo.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Capo punishes Jones's body with a nice straight punch.
Jones tries to score with a low kick but Capo moves his leg out of the way.
Jones doesn't manage to clinch there - Capo circles away.
No luck for Capo with that takedown attempt.
Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet.
Horrible takedown by Capo or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad.
Eddy Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Capo.
Capo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily.
Nice takedown defense from Capo. No joy for Jones on that attempt.
Jones dives in and grabs Capo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Capo pushes down on Jones's head and hops out.

Capo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jones.

Capo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Capo drags the fight down to the ground.
Capo seems keen to control Jones's posture.
Capo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Capo on the ground.

Johnny Capo has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Capo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Jones has taken the fight to the clinch.
Capo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jones is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Capo is looking to break free of the clinch but Jones has double underhooks.
Jones is looking to take this one to the mat.

Capo is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jones is defending well for now.

Capo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Capo has control of Jones's left arm, preventing Jones from doing any damage.

Capo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily.
Jones wanted to stand there but Capo had control of the position.

Capo pushes Jones off and gets back to his feet.
Capo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Capo shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Capo is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Capo circles away and we're back to standing.
Capo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jones defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Capo dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jones misses with a kick to the body.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Capo as he jumps to the side.
Capo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jones.

Jones shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jones was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Capo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Capo sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Capo is trying to maintain the position but Jones is very close to passing his half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Capo makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Capo.
Capo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Capo is looking for a triangle but Jones pushes his legs off easily.

Capo has Jones pulled in close to control his posture.
Capo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jones manages to get himself to full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Capo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Capo stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Capo moves away.
Capo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones tries to clinch but Capo moves out of range.
Capo shoots in and drives through. Jones sprawls well.
Capo misses with an attempted mid kick.
Capo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.
Capo shoots in but no luck this time.
Eddy Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Capo.

Jones throws a leg kick but Capo sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Eddy Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Capo on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Capo is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Capo circles away and we're back to standing.

Capo tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.

Capo gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Capo prevents a body shot from Jones.
Capo pushes Jones back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Jones wants to stall.
Jones managing to block the knees to the body from Capo.
Jones jumps guard but Capo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Jones gets control of Capo's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jones will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Capo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jones, up you get!
Capo shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Capo's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Jones defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Capo.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Capo. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Jones drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Capo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Capo tries to break free but Jones pushes him back against the cage.

Jones jumps guard but Capo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Jones changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Capo fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Capo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Eddy Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Johnny Capo is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Johnny Capo.
Well Capo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
