Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Athrun Zala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taylor Reade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zala comes into the arena with Drowning Pool - Bodies blaring out of the sound system. Athrun Zala has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Athrun Zala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Taylor Reade!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zala throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Reade's waist but Reade gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Zala off to one side.
A solid leg kick lands there for Reade.
Reade throws a front kick that sends Zala stumbling back into the cage.
Zala is breathing heavily.
Zala takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Reade lands a jab to Zala's midsection.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Reade buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Reade cracks Zala with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Reade has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Zala to stand back up!
It looks like Athrun Zala has been cut.
Zala switches off momentarily and Reade cracks him with a monster right hand! Zala topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Reade dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Reade!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Taylor Reade!
Taylor Reade seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
