Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lieutenans Spasl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny English (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spasl is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Johnny English will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Johnny English! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! English has closed the distance and engaged Spasl in a clinch.
Spasl is breathing heavily. English breaks the clinch.
Spasl pulls out of a head kick attempt.
English pushes Spasl up against the cage in a clinch. English looking for a takedown. English stalling against the cage.
English pulls guard effortlessly. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. English has control of Spasl's left arm, preventing Spasl from doing any damage.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. English shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Spasl as he avoids it easily. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. English is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

English tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Spasl swivels and escapes.

Lieutenans Spasl seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. English scores with a head kick. Spasl tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. English moves into the clinch. English lands with a short head shot on the inside. English breaks from the clinch.
English connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Spasl stuffs the takedown attempt from English. English gets slowly back to his feet. English moves into the clinch. English has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Spasl is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. English's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. English breaks the clinch.

English rushes Spasl and presses him up against the cage. English utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. English breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. English misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. English shoots in for a takedown but Spasl shows good takedown defense. Danga de danga de dang - English scores with a four punch combination! A right-left combo lands from English. English shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Spasl as he jumps to the side. Lieutenans Spasl has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny English. A jab from English finds it's way through Spasl's defenses. A combination from English does no damage. English has a takedown stuffed. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A head kick misses from Spasl.

and English counters into the clinch. Nicely done. English gets a trip takedown into half guard. Well, if English is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Spasl throws a wild combination but nothing lands. English ducks under a wild hook from Spasl. English tries to bum rush Spasl with a series of wild strikes but Spasl uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Spasl tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Spasl throws a right and a left that English avoids nicely. English scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. English trying to control the pace. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. English moves into full mount! Spasl won't be happy about that!
That's four minutes gone in the round. English moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Spasl has worked his arm free - good work by Spasl!
You can see the frustration on Spasl's face as English controls the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Johnny English showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Lieutenans Spasl's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Horrible takedown by English or perhaps it was just good defense by Spasl which made him look bad. Lieutenans Spasl is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. English is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Spasl's half guard. English is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Johnny English hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. English closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. English has been the more effective fighter overall so far. English slows down the pace here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. English shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Spasl's guard. English decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Spasl throws a combination that misses and English counters with a big head kick but Spasl shrugs it off. Spasl throws a sloppy head kick and English counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by English. English goes for a takedown in the clinch but Spasl prevents it.
Spasl tries to break free but English pushes him back against the cage. English escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick misses from Spasl. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Some wild striking there from Spasl.
English takes a head kick and keeps coming.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A head kick by Spasl misses and English counters by clinching up. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. English obliges. English stalling in the clinch.
Spasl is trying to force a seperation but English has the dominant position. English gets control of Spasl's arms and successfully pulls guard. English will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Johnny English has got the better of the ground game so far. Spasl trying to stand up but can't free himself from English's guard. English isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Spasl stacks English on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Spasl! Spasl working away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. English sneaks back into half guard. English manages to escape and get back to his feet! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. English fails with a takedown attempt. Lieutenans Spasl has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Johnny English is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. English avoids the head kick by Spasl.
And that's the end of the fight! Johnny English comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well English has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
