Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miyamoto Usagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stanley Montourski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, Miyamoto Usagi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of New York, Stanley Montourski!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Joseph Jones and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montourski loads up on a big right hand but Usagi slips the punch.
Usagi slips a jab from Montourski.
A telegraphed right hand from Usagi misses the target.
Montourski uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Usagi.

Montourski gets caught flat footed, as Usagi shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Usagi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Montourski works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Usagi wants to control from the top but Montourski keeps moving.
Usagi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Usagi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Montourski looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Montourski looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Montourski!
Montourski is looking to take a break and control but Usagi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

You can see the frustration on Usagi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Montourski wants to control but Usagi is keeping him busy.
Usagi sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Usagi is trying to maintain the position but Montourski is very close to passing his half guard.
Montourski works his foot free and advances to mount.
Usagi is squirming around, avoiding Montourski's attempts to control the action.
Usagi is desperately trying to improve his position but Montourski has a good base and remains in mount.

Usagi in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Usagi is trying to escape the mount.

Montourski jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Usagi is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Usagi and Montourski has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Usagi keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Usagi trying to hold on to Montourski's head to control him but Montourski postures up.
Usagi is not content to let Montourski control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Montourski thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Usagi on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fighters are battling for position here. Usagi manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Usagi has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Montourski must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Montourski throws a looping overhand right but Usagi ducks down to avoid it.

Usagi shoots for a double leg takedown but Montourski sprawls well. He's pushed Usagi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Stanley Montourski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Montourski misses with a lunging right hand
and Usagi cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Montourski bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Montourski will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Usagi darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Usagi uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Montourski.
Montourski looks to score with a jab to the body but Usagi is just out of range.

Montourski tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Usagi was well out of range. Poor timing from Montourski.

Usagi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Montourski defends it nicely.
Montourski throws a lazy right hand but Usagi sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Nice shot lands for Usagi.
Usagi fails in his attempt to clinch.

Montourski thows a body shot but no joy.
Montourski scores with the left hand. Usagi knows he should have avoided that one.
Usagi shoots in and drives through. Montourski sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miyamoto Usagi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Montourski takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Usagi is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Montourski is forced to tap! Great finish!
