The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De La Rosa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
De La Rosa throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Paska fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nice takedown defense from De La Rosa. No joy for Paska on that attempt.
Paska tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but De La Rosa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
De La Rosa lands a leg kick that knocks Paska off balance momentarily.

and De La Rosa counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Paska is lucky that one didn't land flush.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jaska Paska. That's going to take a lot out of him.

De La Rosa moves into range and clinches up with Paska.

De La Rosa has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Paska is trying to keep an underhook but De La Rosa manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
De La Rosa is trying to control the action in half guard but Paska is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
De La Rosa works his foot free and advances to mount.

De La Rosa is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Paska to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Paska shrugs it off.
