Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Stoner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, David Nixon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Derek Stoner! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Nixon looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Stoner closes the distance and pushes Nixon back into the cage. Nixon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nixon throws a right and a left that Stoner avoids nicely. Nixon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stoner on his heels. He'll look to pass Stoner's guard now, I'm sure. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Nixon postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Stoner being controlled here, momentarily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nixon cracks Stoner with a solid left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nixon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Nixon looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The ref stands the fighters back up because David Nixon just wasn't active enough. Stoner clinches up against the cage. Nixon jumps guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Nixon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Stoner is rocked! Nixon catches Stoner with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Stoner forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). David Nixon! After winning the bout, David Nixon thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
