Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Bennet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jorge Samuel!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samuel wants to clinch up but Bennet keeps it at a distance.
Samuel doesn't manage to clinch there - Bennet circles away.
Bennet misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bennet tries to work over Samuel's front leg with a kick but Samuel checks it.
Nice uppercut lands for Bennet. That snapped Samuel's head back.
Bennet just misses with a punch to the body.
Samuel is looking to clinch.
Bennet throws a leg kick

and Samuel moves into the clinch.
Bennet gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Samuel.
Samuel tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Bennet can't break the clinch.
Samuel prevents a body shot from Bennet.
Samuel is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the ropes enables Bennet to keep the fight standing.
Samuel using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Bennet has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Bennet takes a knee to the side of the body.
Samuel throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Bennet blocks it with crossed arms.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Samuel drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bennet pulls his leg out and moves away.
Joe Bennet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorge Samuel.

Samuel has Bennet up against the ropes in a clinch.
Bennet fails to pull guard.

Bennet has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Samuel uses from the top position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bennet controlling the position.
Bennet throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Bennet throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Samuel throwing strikes from guard but Bennet blocks nicely.

Samuel is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Bennet has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Samuel is looking to defend but Bennet has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Samuel! Bennet pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Samuel taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Joe Bennet!
