Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daisuke Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hayate Akio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akio has chosen Symphony of Swords as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daisuke Kimura! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hayate Akio! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kimura shoots in and bounces Akio off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kimura tries to free his leg and advance position but Akio is retaining full guard. Kimura passes Akio's left leg - he's now in half guard. Kimura is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Akio defends it well. Akio is defending against the submission attempts here by Kimura.
Akio is looking to control Kimura's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Akio avoid being mounted? Kimura seems to be working for a kimura but Akio defends the submission attempt. Kimura is looking for a kimura here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kimura is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Akio is looking for a sweep. Kimura is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Akio fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A cross from Akio lands. Akio cracks Kimura with an open hand slap. Kimura shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Akio's guard. Kimura postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Akio is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kimura, into his guard. Akio must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Akio wants to stand but Kimura has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Akio drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Akio jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Kimura keeping moving, preventing Akio from controlling successfully. Akio is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. That's three minutes gone in the round. Kimura preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kimura looking to hit a scissor sweep but Akio is one step ahead there.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Akio thows a body shot but no joy. Kimura shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Akio as he avoids it easily. Akio throws a series of punches but Kimura avoids them all with ease. Akio throws a combination. Kimura tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Kimura darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Akio trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kimura looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kimura is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Akio is trying to get back to full guard. Kimura is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Akio is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kimura's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kimura's back!
That's five minutes gone in the round. Akio keeps control of the position as Kimura tries to break free.
Kimura breaks Akio's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Kimura swings around for an armbar but Akio sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kimura's guard.
That's six minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Akio wants to control from the top but Kimura keeps moving. Kimura has his foot on Akio's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Akio works his way back into a safe position though. Kimura is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Akio is trying to maintain the position but Kimura is very close to passing his half guard. Kimura wants to work for an arm triangle but Akio is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Akio is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Akio manages to kick Kimura off! Kimura jumps back into Akio's guard. Kimura stopping the sweep attempt from Akio. Kimura advances to half guard. Akio wants to improve his position but Kimura is controlling well.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kimura is looking for a kimura here.
Akio is trying to control but can't.
Akio makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Akio. Akio has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Kimura doesn't defend quickly enough and Akio has managed to lock this one up! Can Kimura escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Akio on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Hayate Akio!
