Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kato Munechika (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Munechika has chosen Requiem for a Dream as his entrance music. Kato Munechika has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jim Rogers's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jim Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kato Munechika!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Munechika sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Munechika slips a jab from Rogers.
Rogers swings widly with a right hand

and Munechika counters with a shoot takedown. Rogers fights it but they end up in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Rogers looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Rogers keeping full guard, as Munechika tries to pass.
Munechika being controlled here momentarily.
Rogers wants to sweep here but Munechika controlling him for the moment.
Munechika postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Munechika trying to control the position from guard on top but Rogers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Munechika stands up and waves to Rogers to follow him.
Rogers misses with a looping right.

Munechika drives through with a takedown into Rogers's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Munechika controls from within his opponent's guard.
Rogers wants to hit a switch here but Munechika passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Rogers there!

Munechika takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Rogers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Munechika can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rogers is looking to escape.

Munechika misses with a head shot.
Munechika wants to control but instead Rogers manages to regain half guard.
Rogers is not content to let Munechika control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kato Munechika was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Rogers tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Munechika is able to avoid easily.

Munechika looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Munechika throws a strike but Rogers avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Munechika working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Munechika looking to sit in guard and control but Rogers gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rogers is standing up over Munechika. Munechika looks to escape but Rogers dives into side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Munechika tries to buck Rogers off but Rogers is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kato Munechika dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Rogers lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Rogers wants to land a leg kick but Munechika is out of range.

Munechika closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Rogers slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Munechika wants to stand but Rogers is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Rogers takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Rogers swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Munechika closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rogers to the mat! Rogers manages to get full guard.
Munechika is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Rogers is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Rogers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Munechika drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Munechika taking a break here but Rogers is having none of it and regains half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rogers is staying active underneath Munechika, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kato Munechika showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Munechika tries to free his leg and advance position but Rogers is retaining full guard.

Kato Munechika has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Munechika stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rogers.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rogers enables Munechika to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rogers manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Munechika decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Munechika wants to clinch up but Rogers keeps it at a distance.
That kick from Rogers tenderised Munechika's leg. Munechika is trying to keep his angry face on.
Jim Rogers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Rogers throws a nice outside leg kick.
Rogers fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Munechika is out of range.
Rogers pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Munechika shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Munechika showed some decent athleticism there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Munechika looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Munechika passes the guard and advances to mount!
Munechika prevents Rogers from getting the reversal.
Kato Munechika is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Munechika takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Rogers is squirming around, avoiding Munechika's attempts to control the action.
Munechika scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Rogers is desperately trying to improve his position but Munechika has a good base and remains in mount.

Munechika tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Munechika trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Munechika might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rogers kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kato Munechika comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Munechika winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
