Williams scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
An elbow from Williams crashes against the mat.
Mallao tries to buck Williams off but Williams is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams cracks Mallao with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Williams landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

It looks like Dave Mallao has been cut.
Mallao tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Williams wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Williams has control of an arm but Mallao manages to advance to Williams's back!
Mallao tries to get the hooks in deep but Williams pushed the leg off.
Williams tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Williams holds of for dear life.
Mallao trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Mallao really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Williams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Williams throws a big elbow that misses.
Williams postures up in Mallao's guard and throws a big left but Mallao blocks it.

Williams thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Williams postures up and lands a big shot to Mallao's brow.
Williams postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

That has opened up Dave Mallao's cut even more.
Williams is in close to Mallao's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Dave Mallao's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Dave Mallao's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
