Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ozzy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Magellen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes into the arena with Bark at the Moon by Ozzy Osbourne blaring out of the sound system. Magellen comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Reptar, King Of The Ozone kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ozzy James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Miguel Magellen! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Magellen thows a body shot but no joy. James moves in looking to clinch but Magellen pushes him off. James scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. James tries to clinch but Magellen is having none of it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Magellen. Magellen tries for a takedown but James sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. James rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Magellen moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Magellen tries to clinch up but James circles away and keeps his distance. Magellen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. James lands a head shot. James throws a nice outside leg kick. Magellen looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. James tries to land a front kick but Magellen steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. James closes the distance and clinches. James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. A punch combination from James misses. Magellen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as James throws out the jab. James has his takedown stuffed and Magellen moves into the clinch. James drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Magellen gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ozzy James. That's going to take a lot out of him. James has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Magellen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. James just leaning against Magellen, taking a breather. James is trying to stall.
Magellen is trying to break free. James tries to score a body lock takedown but Magellen shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Knees to the body from James.

James breaks the clinch.
James misses with a hook to the body
and Magellen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. James darts in trying to clinch and Magellen counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in James's guard now. James is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Magellen works over James with some ground and pound from guard. Magellen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Magellen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Magellen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Magellen passes James's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Magellen with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Magellen prevents James from improving his position. Magellen slips a nice elbow through James's hands, connecting with James's forehead. Magellen slows the pace down in half guard. Magellen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Magellen tries to pass the half guard into mount. James knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. James makes his way to full guard. A much better position for James. Magellen wants to pass the guard but James is keeping the position. Magellen works a leg free and moves into half guard. James makes his way to full guard. A much better position for James. James wants to get back to his feet but Magellen is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James is trying to control the position but Magellen postures up. James is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because James is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Magellen prevents James from getting back to his feet. James has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Magellen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Magellen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
James not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
James throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
James is trying to control the position but Magellen postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miguel Magellen dominated that round. That's time! James's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
James moves into the clinch. James pulls Magellen into guard.

James is trying to hold Magellen in close to prevent damage but Magellen has managed to pass into half guard.

James wants to get back to full guard. Magellen wants to lay and pray for a moment but James keeps working. James looking for submissions off his back. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. James has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Magellen is working away from the top position though. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nice sprawl there from Magellen as James shoots in. Magellen throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. James checks the leg kick nicely there.
James doesn't succeed with the takedown and Magellen counters with a stiff right hand. Miguel Magellen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight stays on the outside here - Magellen looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Magellen wants to slow James down by chopping away at his legs. Magellen fails to land the takedown. James takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
The fight moves into the clinch position. James breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Magellen. James scores with a leg kick.
James shoots in for a takedown and gets it. James is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Magellen looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Magellen punching from the bottom.
Magellen is pressing down on James's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Magellen controls James momentarily but James frees himself. Magellen is pulling down on James's head. It's preventing any offense from James, at least for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Magellen wants to sweep but no luck. James has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Magellen pulls James in to control the position. Magellen is looking for a triangle but James pushes his legs off easily.
Magellen tries to land a sweep but no joy. Magellen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. James doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. James manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. James trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. James stands up from Magellen's guard - James perhaps looking for a knockout. Good shot there by James.
It looks like Miguel Magellen has been cut. Ozzy James is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

James tightens his grip and picks Magellen up, before dumping him to the ground. Magellen manages to land in guard. James wants to control from the top but Magellen keeps moving. Magellen has a closed guard, preventing James from standing up. Magellen can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as James controls the pace. James passes easily into side control. Nice work. Miguel Magellen has got the better of the ground game so far. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! James wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Magellen, who protects the arm well. James tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ozzy James dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Miguel Magellen's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

That could mean trouble for James! James tries to hold on but Magellen pushes him away. James is just holding on here. Magellen manages to take his back.

Magellen gets his hands free as James looks to control. Magellen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

James wants to pass the guard but Magellen is keeping the position. Magellen keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Magellen fails with the takedown. James forces Magellen back against the cage and clinches. James turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! James working the ground and pound. James stands up and beckons Magellen to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James shoots in for a takedown but Magellen shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ozzy James. That's going to take a lot out of him. James fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
James shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. James takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. James throws a nice inside leg kick. Magellen shoots in and drives through. James sprawls well. James fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Magellen scores with a shot to the body.
James throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Magellen's head. This has been an exciting period of action! Magellen clinches up against the cage. James keeps control of Magellen as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Magellen is pressed up against the cage. James has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Magellen down to the mat. Magellen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. James rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and James takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Magellen tries to clinch and James counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Magellen! Magellen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Magellen tries to lock up and control but James gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. James jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Magellen is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Magellen and James has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Magellen keeping his opponent close. Magellen struggling a bit here. Magellen manages to work his way to half guard, despite James's best efforts. James is looking for a kimura here.

Magellen wants to control but James is keeping busy and won't allow it. Magellen keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. James is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Magellen wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Magellen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Magellen gets full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Magellen pulls James in close to prevent any damage. Magellen keeping full guard, as James tries to pass.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Miguel Magellen. I think Magellen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
