The bell rings for round one and we are underway! OReilly falls off balance throwing a combination
and Schmellengartner counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. OReilly is lucky that one didn't land flush. OReilly blocks a jab. Schmellengartner swings for the body but OReilly moves out of range.
Schmellengartner throws a shot from downtown. OReilly moves away and avoids it. OReilly throws a body punch but Schmellengartner moves out of range. OReilly throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Schmellengartner tries to land a knee to the head but OReilly blocks with his arms.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. OReilly wants to stand but Schmellengartner has a closed guard, so he can't escape. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Schmellengartner is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. OReilly wants to stand and escape but instead Schmellengartner has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frenk Schmellengartner dominated that round. The cut man is working on Johnny OReilly's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
The fight stays on the outside here - Schmellengartner looks like he's thinking about clinching though. OReilly has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Schmellengartner misses with a hook. OReilly keeps the fight on the outside. OReilly avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Johnny OReilly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. OReilly throws a hook but Schmellengartner avoids it easily. OReilly misses with the combination.
Schmellengartner goes for a high kick. It partially lands. OReilly gets caught napping as Schmellengartner dives in and scores a takedown. OReilly manages to retain guard. Schmellengartner is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Schmellengartner tries to stand but OReilly is controlling from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. OReilly keeping moving, preventing Schmellengartner from controlling successfully. OReilly has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Schmellengartner off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. OReilly misses with a jab, cross combination.

It looks like Frenk Schmellengartner has been cut. OReilly throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Schmellengartner. A big right followed by a crushing left from OReilly knocks Schmellengartner out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
