Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Craig Whitehead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Hil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hil has chosen Darryl & Joe- Run DMC as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hil tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Whitehead was well out of range. Poor timing from Hil.
Whitehead dips to his left and cracks Hil with an uppercut!
Whitehead throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hil tests Whitehead's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like Craig Whitehead has been cut.
Hil on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Whitehead scores with a shot to the body.
Hil takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hil steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Whitehead.
Hil thows a body shot but no joy.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hil clinches up with Whitehead and pushes him back against the cage.

Hil avoids a wild elbow strike from Whitehead.

Whitehead tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Hil's elbow.

Hil escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hil lunges at Whitehead with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Whitehead's hand.

Whitehead is rocked!

Hil has Whitehead up against the cage in a clinch.
Oh Whitehead is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Whitehead misses with an elbow over the top.
Whitehead seems to have got his legs back now.
Hil goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Whitehead tries for a takedown. No joy.
Whitehead tries a knee to the head but Hil blocks it.
Whitehead throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hil blocks it with crossed arms.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Whitehead.

A frustrated look appears on Whitehead's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Hil is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Whitehead has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hil avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Hil breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hil scores with a decent looking hook.
Hil comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Hil drops Whitehead with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Whitehead looks back up at him and smiles so Hil waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Whitehead gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Hil gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rich Hil!
