Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vadim Kharghai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cha Cha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kharghai throws a looping overhand right but Cha ducks down to avoid it. Cha closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kharghai did well to prevent Cha getting side control. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Cha is looking to take a break and control but Kharghai is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cha is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kharghai has managed to free his arm - good work. Kharghai has his hands clasped together around Cha's back. He's all about the action. Cha is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kharghai sees it coming and defends easily. Kharghai is looking to improve his position.
Cha wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kharghai keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kharghai wants to control but Cha is keeping busy.
Cha is trying to control the action in half guard but Kharghai is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Kharghai is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kharghai throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Cha Cha has been cut. Cha chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kharghai can pounce on him.
Kharghai throws a series of punches but Cha moves out of range. Kharghai looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Cha misses with a lunging right hand
and Kharghai counters with a low kick, right behind Cha 's knee. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kharghai moves out of range as Cha strikes. Vadim Kharghai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kharghai shoots for a double leg takedown but Cha sprawls well. He's pushed Kharghai's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kharghai does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Kharghai tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cha was well out of range. Poor timing from Kharghai. Kharghai misses with a low kick. Cha shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kharghai is trying to defend but Cha finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Cha wants to pass the guard but Kharghai is defending well. Kharghai tries to get to full guard but Cha has control of the leg. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cha is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kharghai moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Cha preventing the sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kharghai is on top in guard.
Kharghai trying to control but Cha is working from the bottom. Cha is trying to keep Kharghai in close.
Kharghai with a flurry of punches that miss. Kharghai is looking to work some ground and pound but Cha has wrist control. Cha has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Kharghai should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Cha has tightened it up now! Kharghai should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
