Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Donovan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Mendoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hector Mendoza has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donovan Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hector Mendoza!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza clinches with his opponent.
Smith cracks Mendoza with a nice body shot.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Smith.
Smith tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Mendoza throws a knee to the head but misses.
Smith throws a punch but it's blocked by Mendoza.
Mendoza unloads a knee to the mid-section. Smith lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Mendoza using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Smith has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Smith tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Mendoza's elbow.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Mendoza just misses with a elbow thrown towards Smith's brow.

Smith creates a bit of space for himself and unleashed what can only be described as a tiger uppercut, straight out of Street Fighter! Mendoza crashes to the mat! Can he make it back to his feet in time? 3,4,5, yes, he's made it back to his feet. He seems OK so it looks like we're going to continue!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hector Mendoza's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Mendoza has a couple of punches blocked by Smith.

Smith digs a right hand underneath Mendoza's ribcage. Mendoza let out a lung full of air as it connected.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Hector Mendoza's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Donovan Smith!
After the fight, Donovan Smith was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
