Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hoso Alvy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Alphen Martirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvy is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. John Alphen Martirez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Eliza Hachem and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martirez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Alvy swivels and escapes.
Alvy is breathing heavily.
Martirez looks to land a combination but Alvy avoids it well.
Alvy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Alvy trying to control but Martirez is having none of it.
Alvy jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Martirez manages to avoid the submission attempt.
You can see the frustration on Martirez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Martirez is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alvy is trying to work for a kimura but Martirez is defending well.

Alvy is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Martirez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alvy is working away from the top position though.

Martirez has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Alvy. Oh but Martirez has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Alvy goes limp - he's gone! Martirez jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
