Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Scott Randleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Borders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Randleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Borders!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Alyssa Summers and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randleman swinging wildly here.
Borders fails to land with a series of punches.
Borders throws a head kick that half lands.
Borders lands a high kick!
Randleman throws a low kick but it's checked well by Borders.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Borders.
Randleman bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Borders is defended easily by Randleman.
Borders pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Randleman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Borders moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Randleman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Borders defends it nicely.

Randleman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Borders decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Borders lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Borders uses his free foot to push down on Randleman's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Randleman.
Randleman avoids a series of strikes thrown by Borders.
Borders dominating with strikes here.
Randleman is working to get back to half guard.
Borders has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Randleman is squirming around, avoiding Borders's attempts to control the action.

Borders stands up from mount. Strange move.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Borders lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Randleman circles away quickly and effectively.
Borders swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Randleman counters with a stiff right hand.
Randleman fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Borders fails with a takedown attempt.
Scott Randleman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Borders.
Borders looks gassed!
Randleman stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Borders.
Randleman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Borders pinned against the cage. Borders gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Randleman throws a lazy right hand but Borders sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Borders fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Randleman, pushing him back against the cage.

Randleman breaks the clinch.
Randleman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Borders moves in looking to clinch but Randleman pushes him off.
Randleman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Borders swivels and escapes.

Borders bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Randleman is trying to improve his position.
Randleman is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Borders is controlling him well.
The ground and pound from Borders seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Borders in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Borders gets to mount! Randleman was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Borders cracks Randleman with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Borders working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Borders unloading with bombs!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Borders landing punches.

Borders has hold of Randleman's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Randleman manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Borders dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Randleman throws a head kick but Borders moves out of range.
Randleman is looking to clinch but Borders is avoiding it.
Nice sprawl there from Borders as Randleman shoots in.
Borders tries a head kick but it misses.
Randleman uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Borders.
A head kick misses from Borders.
Borders looks to score with a jab to the body but Randleman is just out of range.
Borders ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Randleman moves away.
Nice takedown defense from Randleman. No joy for Borders on that attempt.
A combination from Borders does no damage.
Borders is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Randleman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Borders manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Randleman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Borders as he avoids it easily.
Randleman misses with a low kick.
Randleman with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Randleman has his takedown stuffed
and Borders makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Randleman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Borders attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Randleman throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Borders pushes Randleman up against the cage in a clinch.
Randleman tries for a takedown but Borders manages to get underhooks.

Borders breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chris Borders seems to be getting the better of the standup.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A jab from Borders finds it's way through Randleman's defenses.
Borders misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Randleman shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Borders works Randleman's body with a nice hook.

Borders closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Randleman's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Borders trying to control but Randleman is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Borders stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Randleman gets caught flat footed, as Borders shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Borders postures up.
Borders forces his way into half guard.

Borders is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Randleman has managed to free his arm - good work.
Chris Borders has got the better of the ground game so far.
Randleman is trying to get back to full guard.
Borders has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Borders get's back to his feet.
Randleman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Borders shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Randleman napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Borders is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Randleman is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Borders takes a little break here. Randleman wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Borders stands up and beckons Randleman to his feet.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Borders showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Borders shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Randleman keeping moving, preventing Borders from controlling successfully.
Borders postures up.
Borders trying to move into half guard but instead Randleman has managed to sweep!
Randleman tries to free his leg and advance position but Borders is retaining full guard.
Borders pulls Randleman in close to prevent any damage.

Randleman has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Borders to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Randleman is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Borders pulls down on the head and he's put Randleman to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Chris Borders!
