0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aj Fernandez! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Sosuke Kotani and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fernandez looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Kawajiri! Kawajiri looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Fernandez controlling from mount. Fernandez unloading with bombs! Fernandez controlling the pace for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. I looks like Fernandez might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Kawajiri is bucking up trying to escape but Fernandez cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Fernandez looking to finish Kawajiri with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kawajiri! Kawajiri is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Fernandez pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Despite being in the dominant position, Aj Fernandez just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Fernandez throws a series of punches but Kawajiri moves out of range. Fernandez misses with a two punch combination.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Fernandez. Fernandez throws a sloppy head kick and Kawajiri moves out of range easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fernandez feints and as Kawajiri raises his hands in defense, Fernandez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Fernandez pushing down on Kawajiri's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Ground and pound from Fernandez. Kawajiri has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fernandez is working away from the top position though. Kawajiri actively working from the bottom here. Fernandez is figuring out what he wants to do next. Kawajiri is trying to maintain the position but Fernandez is very close to passing his half guard. Fernandez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kawajiri trying to get back to full guard but Fernandez takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Fernandez is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Kawajiri is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Kawajiri flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Fernandez anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Kawajiri and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Fernandez slips an arm under Kawajiri chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Fernandez has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Fernandez is squeezing on Kawajiri like an anaconda would it's prey. Kawajiri fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
