Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Szogun Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rua's choice of entrance music: Infected Mushroom - I Wish. Szogun Rua has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Bruno Silva's chin.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva with a poor takedown
and Rua counters with a series of strikes. Silva will be more careful next time no doubt.
Rua lands a jab-cross combination.
Silva misses with a takedown
and Rua counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rua lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Silva backs up against the cage.
Rua misses with an uppercut. Silva saw that one coming.
Rua throws a leg kick but Silva checks it.
Rua looks to land a left hand but Silva moved out of range nicely.
A left lands for Rua.

A cross from Rua lands.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Silva gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Rua counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruno Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rua throws a hook but Silva blocks it.

Silva shoots and misses
and Rua counters with a two punch combo.
Rua lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively.
Rua clobbers Silva with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Silva with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rua to score with a decent uppercut.
A combination from Rua does no damage.
Rua throws a one two combo.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Silva. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Rua connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rua moves into range and connects with a jab.
Silva takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Rua bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Silva's head backwards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rua throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silva has his takedown stuffed
and Silva takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva misses with a takedown
and Rua counters with a stiff right hand.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Silva has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Silva there as he acknowledges the shot.
Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Rua counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Rua slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Silva walks into a stiff left hand from Rua.
Rua lands a nice looking body shot.
Rua is working the combinations to good effect here.
Rua scores with a jab to the head.
Szogun Rua is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva shoots and misses
and Rua counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Silva is rocked!
Rua lunges at Silva with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Silva's hand.
Oh Silva is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rua misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rua lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Bruno Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rua uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Rua moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Silva with a lazy takedown attempt
and Rua counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rua lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Silva goes down and covers up as Rua starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Szogun Rua!
Szogun Rua is the new light heavyweight champion!
A very excited looking Szogun Rua made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
