1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Travis Kazarian! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Esnar stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Esnar wants it to stay on the feet. Kazarian gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Esnar to score an easy takedown into full guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Kazarian bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Esnar's guard. Esnar utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Kazarian is looking to work some ground and pound but Esnar has wrist control. Kazarian makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kazarian with a flurry of punches that miss. Kazarian working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. This has been an exciting period of action! Kazarian postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Kazarian with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Esnar utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Kazarian loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Esnar is breathing heavily. Kazarian throws a big right hand that misses. Kazarian trying to control the position from guard on top but Esnar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kazarian missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Kazarian pushing down on Esnar's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Esnar keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kazarian is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kazarian drops an elbow to the side of Esnar's head. Kazarian landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Kazarian not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
