PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kostas Drivakis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eduardo Calgaro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drivakis comes to the cage accompanied by The Total Biscuit Ballad. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calgaro defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Drivakis.
Drivakis wants to clinch.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Drivakis is looking for a triangle but Calgaro pushes his legs off easily.

Calgaro gets to his feet - Drivakis follows without any prompting.
Calgaro stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Calgaro wants it to stay on the feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Drivakis misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Calgaro is trying to stick to Drivakis's back but Drivakis is turning into Calgaro. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Calgaro's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Drivakis.
Drivakis postures up in Calgaro's guard and throws a big left but Calgaro blocks it.
Drivakis is breathing heavily.
Calgaro is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Calgaro throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Drivakis has gone for a leg lock! Calgaro slips out almost immediately though and dives into Drivakis's guard.
Drivakis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Calgaro stands up and waves to Drivakis to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eduardo Calgaro dominated that round.
That's time! Drivakis's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Calgaro fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Drivakis to the ground. Calgaro is now in Drivakis's guard.

Eduardo Calgaro has got the better of the ground game so far.
Drivakis on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Drivakis strikes from the bottom but Calgaro uses the opportunity to move to side control.

Calgaro is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Drivakis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Calgaro has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Drivakis is defending well but eventually Calgaro manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Drivakis has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
